Bowflex selecttech 552 Dumbbells-An Investment to Your Healthy Lifestyle
54Why People Buy Bowflex Selecttech 552 Dumbbells
I purchased bowflex selecttech 552 dumbbells rather than purchasing a complete
dumbbell set mainly because who actually has space for all that junk? I've
recently been using bowflex 552 dumbbells for 7 days right now and I'm pleased
with the sturdy construction, very simple design, and overall simple to use. My
only problem and concern was that a number of reveiws talked about the chance of
the weights rattling and people were concerned they could drop off? I'd not
heard this before, so I researched it more and although the PowerBlock dumbells
had gotten good reviews, I simply could not get past just how unpleasant they
were, and the fact that they used a magnetic pin to keep the weights
in.
The dials, in my opinion, are ten times a lot easier than the
magnetic pins of PowerBlocks, and these Bowflex dumbells look ten times more
fashionable (our gymnasium equipment is on our loft, so yes my wife and I have a
style standard). These types of dumbells are about 15 in . long, but neither of
us have any issues with their size (I think the PowerBlocks were only a 3 inch
difference anyways).
You just turn the dial to your preferred weight in
2. 5lb increments up to 25lbs, then 5lb increments to 50lbs (max 52. 5lbs). The
2. 5lb increments are especially helpful for anyone like me who has just begun
weight lifting and the jump from 15-20lbs (for example) is a little much in most
cases, which is why having a 17. 5lb option is so great
Another excellent
feature is the potential to apply offset weights. For example, you can choose
10lbs on one side and 15lbs on the different side of a single dumbbell for a
total weight of 12. 5lbs. What this does, however, is provide you the ability to
work on pronation and supination of the wrist when doing curls and such. Since
one side of the weight weighs more, you possibly can work both the bicep and
also wrist at the same moment when doing your regular routine.
Minor Problem
The only
downside to this kind of product is it is overall dimension. These
dumbbells are
BIG. Because of the overall length from dial to dial it could be
slightly
difficult to perform several exercises 2 dumbbells come into close
proximity.
It's a minor inconvenience and has not stopped me from doing any
particular
exercise. As a result, though, I give the product 4/5 stars. I also
highly
recommend these to a full-range dumbbell set, particularly if you travel
since
these are easily transportable.
There is also a safety aspect
that stops
the removal of the dumbbells from the stand if a weight has not been
totally
selected. I read the guidelines and carried out the tests to make sure
the
locking system functioned the right way and was amazed with it.
Basically, you
can't remove the handle if a weight on either side has not been fully
selected
by the dial.
We are really happy with bowflex
selecttech 552 dumbbells,
and I hope you enjoy your Bowflex SelectTechs as much as we enjoy ours!
